For Teachers: Rainbow Ladder Maths
Quite simply this is a large set of carefully graded; fun maths activities that will ensure children enjoy maths and will be a competent mathematician upon completion. Our RLM was devised and developed for use by Home Educating parents and carers. However, the individual activities within the program can be used as a great resource for your classroom maths teaching. Any of the activities can be adapted for whole class teaching or small group work and come along with the necessary vocabulary and hints and tips from us. You can use them knowing that they are based on sound mathematical principles and learning theories.
We see you using the RLM program as a resource bank. Sometimes you just need an idea to run with and this is the place to find it.
Yellow Level - Grouping into 10s
Take a large number of objects (straws, conkers, pasta shapes, buttons etc), less than 100, and toss them onto the carpet, onto the table or up in the air for example.
Lilac Level - Circles
Before moving on, it is important to refresh your child’s memory of the circles vocabulary.
