Types of Graph

Graphs are used by mathematicians to illustrate data they have collected. Here are all the types of graphs your child will come across in his/her primary school. Use our Learning Objective section to find out which types of graph are appropriate for your child.

Graphs come under Data in the maths curriculum.  There are 3 main parts to data; the collection; the representation (graphing) and the interpretation.

At times your child will be asked to do all three in a project but at other times your child may only be asked to do one or two and be given the necessary information to complete the task.
